Symptoms usually are pain in the jaw and TM joint area especially with the opening/closing movement of the joint. Commonly precipitated by injury or tension in the surrounding muscle by teeth clenching kind of movements. Dentist take care of these problems; get it checked out.

Possible: You describe the symptoms of tmj.  Trauma an certainly be a cause of the popping.  You need an evaluation for a diagnosis and treatment.  A prosthodontist, oral surgeon or well trained general dentist.  In the meantime eat a soft diet. Avoid chewy foods.  Ibuprophen can help with the pain if this is safe for you to take.

3- don't try to "pop" your ears
