pulse laying down is higher then sitting down on a chair.  but pulse sitting on the ground and not chair is higher then laying down. explanations?

Postural BP : I am wondering why you are checking your pulse to begin with.  Your pulse would predictably be a bit higher as you go from lying down to sitting to standing.   If you are dehydrated or have other conditions, it can take your body a while to adjust and this can make you faint.

my pulse is ~65-95 when sitting and usually is ~55 when laying down.  when standing after sitting it rises ~10-20bpm.   is this a cause for concern?

Accepted Answer

No: Part of standing results in an increase pulse.  This is an orthostatic response.  If you are not symptomatic this is not concerning.

ive been feeling this pulse in the left side of my abdomen for a little while now, i cant really feel it when im standing up only when im sitting or laying down. it doesnt cause me any pain but its starting to freak me out. any suggestions?

Aorta: The abdominal portion of the aorta is very large artery, and often its pulsations  are often palpable by healthy slender people. If the pulsation feels very strong, A physician would check for an aneurysm and also check to make sure your blood pressure is not elevated. An ultrasound study can be done if your MD feels is advisable to determine the status of the aorta. My guess is you're OK.

Muscle fatigue: Muscles will often twitch when they have been fatigued and then are resting. You may also feel your pulse when you are relaxed and that could be what you're feeling. Sometimes if there is a nerve that's irritated it can cause twitching and cramping but that's usually lower extremity and associated with some pain. Not to worry nothing unusual. Good health

Relax: If you are functioning well enough to enter the question you have an adequate heart rate, Try flexing your palm inward toward your body slightly  &amp; feel it.An outward extension drops the artery between wrist bones. Don't push hard. Also try in your neck about an inch away from the windpipe. You may want someone to teach you the techniques.

Let's try: The pulse is the timing and would be low.
The pulse pressure systolic minus diastolic is variable.
110/60 would be 50 and normal.
120/80 would be 40 and normal
diastolic below 50 would be a concern and should be worked up.
Systolic over 150 is a concern .
So some variation is normal within the ranges.

im 42 pressure is good 122 .84 but pulse is 114 and im laying down all day just watching tv is my pulse very highi think its not normal?

Tachycardia: That is abnormal especially for being at rest. We don't know anything about you, not even your age let alone your medical history, medications or why you are laying down all day, so we can't provide you with a relevant response. You may be dealing with anxiety but your heart rate is abnormally high. You should be seen by your doctor soon.
