But stress,  associated with anxiety or depression, can tighten up the muscles of the throat, causing this sensation. Should be checked by a doctor.

FIRST make sure there is no anatomic problems and get your throat checked out by your PCP (who may refer you to an ENT (Ear Nose Throat)Specialist.
