Fet GI exam and: Zantac or Nexium. This "sounds" liGERD and will also require testing for all digestive enzymes including liver and pancreatic enzymes as well as testing for H. pylori. Your issues requires more clinical evaluation.

Consider this...: Aerophagia (swallowed air) distends stomach & may result in burping. Also, gassiness/ stomach distension after meals can reflect: 1) partial gastric outlet obstruction due to gastritis/ulcer; 2) pyloric narrowing from scar;3) gastroparesis due to delayed stomach emptying (as w/diabetic gut neuropathy); 4) bacterial overgrowth in gut; 5) any malabsorption; 6) pancreatic maldigestion; 7) ibs; 8) more.

Could be reflux: You might be having a problem with reflux (gerd). Try cutting back caffeine (coffee, tea, soda), avoiding lying down for 1-2 hrs after eating, limiting mints, mint gum, citrus items. Monitor your diet to see if you can see a connection between food(s) you're eating and your symptoms and then limit those items.  If these things aren't helping, see your doctor.

Acid reflux?: There could be many causes of your symptoms, but the most common one by far would be acid reflux. When you have the pain, you could try anti-reflux measures and try  taking an anti-acid such as Mylanta to see if it helps. If it does, then it is related to stomach acid. If it persists, you should see your doctor. Good luck.

Thyromegaly: Severe thyromegaly (goiter) can cause difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, or hoarseness and usually without hormonal changes. Thyroid glands that cause these symptoms are usually large enough for you to feel by palpating at the base of your neck above the collar bones, esp with swallowing. Sometimes you can even see fullness/swelling in the neck. Obesity can hide this exam.

Exam/US: Your symptoms are suggestive of gallbladder disease ( stones or inflammation ). See your physician for medication and ultrasound imaging-ASAP!! Try using OTC Nexium (esomeprazole) and Mylanta until seen and evaluated.

Finally, candida can colonize the esophagus selectively without visible thrush in the throat.  Nonspecific symptoms like indigestion, soreness, pain, dysphagia all possible.

Indigestion?: When there is bad breath not associated with poor dental care, it often is some type of maldigestion,ie, something about the way your is digesting what you're eating. If there is no abdominal pain, then a course of probiotics might be helpful. Consult you're doctor if the smelly gas persists
