Smell of feces: is  largely linked with our diet. Some vegetarians can have feces with little odor or sometimes odor that isn't unpleasant.

Ammonia Smell: The most likely cause is a change in your intestinal bacterial flora. However, is it possible that the smell is actually from your urine? You can easily check. If not, try a probiotic mixture to "correct" your but bacterial population and see if that makes a difference. There are some other more serious conditions that may be at play, including liver and kidney problems, so i would follow up w/ md.

See a doctor: He should see his doctor. There are several reasons why a 30 year old could have blood in his stool. It cold be hemorrhoids, rectal tear, or inflammatory bowel disease to name a few. This should be evaluated and not let go.

Vaginal infection?: Strong vaginal odor usually indicates vaginal infection, especially bacterial vaginosis, less often trichomonas. The odor is most commonly described as "fishy", but "feces smell" also fits. A foreign body (e.g. forgotten tampon, condom, etc) can do it. Trich is an STD, and BV is more common in people at risk for STD, so you also need test for gonorrhea and chlamydia. See a doc or clinic ASAP.

been having feces that smell like burnt hair. the color is normal though. i've had this in the past but goes away over time. i recently had a ct scan of the abdomen and nothing abnormal was found.

Stool smell: The odor of our stools is usually a reflection of our diet.  Occassionally, odor changes can be related to a variety of infections with bacteria or parasites.  Your doctor can easily assess for this by sending samples of your stool to a laboratory for testing.

Sometimes, particularly in youths, the condition is behavioral.  Alternatively, your odor problem is skin-related or neurologically-based (olefactory mis-sense). What's doc say?

He needs to find out: I'm going to assume that he practices decent oral hygiene with flossing, including his tongue. He may have a Zenker's diverticulum, a bean or something trapped in his nasopharynx, or some other food trap near his airway. He needs to get seen if he's going to survive socially and professionally.
