can my hsv test be a false positive? im a virgin whos only ever done oral sex once 3 months ago. had a confirmed false+ syphilis test and now hsv igm is 2.64 & igg is 0.74. i have no symptoms and im negative for everything else. could it be ebv?

: False positive HSV IgM tests are extremely common -- so much so that herpes and STI experts never use them for HSV testing and advise their patients to ignore IgM results; IgG is the only reliable type of HSV antibody test, and your negative IgG result is reliable -- for sure you do not have HSV. EBV does not do this. It's just a coincidence you had a false pos syphilis test as well.

No: No Both the urine and blood test must specifically be ordered for the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) which tests for pregnancy.

: In your country it has been reported that .07% of blood donors have syphilis. You health history should be reported and blood screened before donating. No recent infectious diseases reported by you, than your blood donation should be approved. Stay safe and practice safe sex.

if i was given a 1-dose rocephin shot and 7-day doxycycline but was not infected with clymydia or gonorrhea and a week later tested positive for trichomonous could this cause a false positive test result for syphilis and/or herpes 1 and 2?

: Your doctors obviously suspected gonorrhea and/or chlamydia or they would not have prescribed those antibiotics. Trichomonas can cause the same symptoms, so that test result should note surprising. (I hope you have now been treated for trich, probably with metronidazole.) Trichomonas does not cause false results for syphilis or herpes tests.
