is it normal to feel pulse on one temple stronger than the other? also have numbness on that side of face/forehead. ct normal. 20yrs old.

Relax: At 20 years old you are starting to notice bodily functions you have  ignored in the past. Also you have probably forgotten or not experienced true severe pain or illness. A good rule of thumb : If you have to wonder if something hurts or not then it doesn&#x27;t hurt. Likewise if a sensation or self examination isn&#x27;t unpleasant and there&#x27;s nothing new (like a lump or skin lesion) then you&#x27;re ok!

every few weeks my temple artery/vein becomes prominent on my face. i think its an artery because i can feel a pulse. anyway, no symptoms or pain but why does this happen? it scares me each time and then it goes away. sometimes its both sides?

: If there is no associated pain, headache or vision change, do not concern much. Remind your doctor for a quick exam in the next visit. However, see your doctor right away if above symptoms develop.

Sympathetic reaction: Yes, it can be. This is classic sympathetic reaction with fight or flight response. There is sudden release and surge of adrenaline in the blood with spasms of blood vessels in feet and hand which makes them cold, hot face and temples pulsating which means the blood pressure was high too. Need to divert anger towards a peaceful resolution, and do regular exercises. If it persists, see a doctor.

Shaking: the described symptoms and features are not typical of cardiac issues.  Perhaps you are experiencing rigors, a temperature check would greatly helped in narrowing down the differential list, physical symptoms off an illness might be exaggerated due to your history of anxiety

Get checked: have a neurologist check you out, especicially your left facial nerve. Numbess is a disconcerting symptom and requires appropriate evaluation.

Temporal artery: There is a small artery in that location, so gentle pressure can often find the pulse there. If any pain in that vicinity (with or without touching) can indicate medical issue and need evaluation by Dr.

?irregular pulse: Your physician should examine you if the pulsation is strong as high blood pressure could cause this. Also if the pulsation is truly irregular then  your heart rhythm has to be evaluated at the same time.

Not likely: No that would not be considered normal. Whether that is significant is another question. Is the stronger pulse temple area tender, or associated with headache? Do you have any other symptoms like dizziness, or visual or movement problems? If so, then do get checked by a clinician. Hope that helps.
