Benzoyl peroxide : That is a side effect of benzoyl peroxide.  If you cannot tolerate this stop using it.

Yes: I have seen this in patients..Sometimes people can tolerate one or the other item  but not the two when used together.  Best to stop using them..Take an antihistamine(allegra (fexofenadine) zyrtec, check the labels) and try something else. If the eaction gets worse see your dr.

after using clearasil (benzoyl peroxide) my face is red, sore to touch, dry and i'm breaking out horribly. could this be an allergic reaction? what could i do to two it?

Cosmetic reaction: Clearasil (benzoyl peroxide) has different ingredients for different purposes.When your skin breaks out at the site which has contact with it, it can be due to either allergy or irritation. If symptoms are outside of the area that your skin has contacts with, it is more likely that you are allergic to one of the ingredients in the lotion/solution. In all case, you should stop using it and see a doc to be evaluated.

Wrong question: If you are asking if benzoyl peroxide will tan your face, the answer is NO. Next questions: What, exactly, do you mean by "more tan"? Are you outside in sun? Ever go tanning? Anything else used on face? Why would you wish to "reverse" it?

i over-used benzoyl peroxide & my face is bright red and dry, even after many hours. i need the redness to go away asap. what should i do?

Wait it out: This is going to happen with any of these products &amp; the chemical burn you created must heal. Be sure you get all of it off with a moisturizing soap.You could try a mild (1/2% hydrocortisone cream thinly applied once or  twice a day for itching/redness but you mostly have to let it heal.It will behave like a sunburn. Avoid the BP for a few weeks.

Acne: It would be fine to use them both on the same day. I would not use them at the same time although this would probably be okay too.

i am using benzoyl peroxide and i am noticing my face looks really white compared to the rest of my body is this because of the bleach?

Could be: Try not using it for a few days to see if the color in your face improves. Are you seeing a dermatologist? People with darker skin can experience bleaching of skin from benzoyl peroxide. There are other alternatives that won't do that. Perhaps Differin (adapalene) would be a good choice.

Acne& VitaminE/aloe: You could try vitamin e cream and aloe if it helps. Some times it can aggrvate the pimple but most of the times it is okay.

No: It is safe, effective and readily available.  Benzoyl peroxide will improve appearance and dry the skin a little, but will not remove all kinds of acne.  it will help if used as directed.

Moisturizers help: When acne creams or gels are strong on the face, and there is facial irritation or inflammation, twice a day moisturizing cream helps. Patients with much irritation find that over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream twice a day for one week, can make a big difference. One can talk with one's primary care doctor about the acne creams, to see if some of them can be used less often but still work.
