Unlikely: If you are worried about a past event, relax. Light damage to the retina does happen. But it takes prolonged (several minutes) of staring into a very bright light sharply focused on your retina. I would not recommend staring at a light again, though! there is no reason to risk any damage, so why do it?!

Blink, rest, & tears: Take frequent rest periods. Don't forget to blink when staring at the computer.  Use over the counter teardrops to help lubricate the eye.

See below: Not blinking. Dry eyes.  Not allowing the eyes to accomodate to a different depth/focus.  Closing eyes or placing a time limit on screen time and looking at objects at different locations inbetween screen viewing may help.

Not really: Computer use does not really cause any eye problems, but long term use may be associated with eyestrain and dry eye. Making sure that the computer is at a reasonable distance from you, varying the viewing distance, and periodically taking breaks and looking away from the computer can help prevent eye strain. The blink rate can decrease with computer use, so artificial tears can help if needed.

Eye damage: 5 seconds of glare from the sun is not likely to cause damage to your eyes. Take care.

Not a problem: The overall intensity of a fluorescent bulb is too low to cause any damage to the back of the eye.  Hopefully you will find more productive use of your time.

Not necessarily: Awkward can be difficult but it may not be a problem. If possible, I'll bet that a small smile and head tilt in acknowledgement will avoid a fear reaction. You may or may not know what you're looking for but some talk therapy and CBT to manage behaviors/feelings may be really helpful. Social skills can be learned like other skills. Find a good match and see. Best!

what would make your eyes make small minuscule movements when staring at self in mirror?. this happened yesterday. my eyes were making very very tiny movements but today they are not and i can keep my eyes very steady, didnt look like nystagmus?
