Ophthalmology: Studies show that ocular pain is a definite indication for a full history, physical, and visit with an eye specialist ASAP. The differential diagnosis can include glaucoma, which is an increase in the pressure in your eye that can threaten your vision, infections, trauma, corneal abrasion, subconjunctival hemorrhage, zoster related pain, dry eyes, episcleritis &amp; others. Eye pain: IF there eye pain, please see a physician. The small amount of crusty discharge may be caused by local irritation, allergies ( usually both eyes ), but if the amount increases, antibiotic eye drops are indicated. Rinse eyes gently with saline solution and watch for redness and eye pain.

Conjunctival cyst: It sounds like a conjunctival inclusion cyst, which can get larger and more irritating. Sometimes they are excised for this reason.  Mostly they are asymptomatic and may be left alone and observed. Poking it with a needle is not advisable an pd also not likely to eliminate it anyway.

Good you had exam: From some of your symptoms if not all - it sounds quite possible that these are allergy effects. Try otc benedryl as directed to see if it helps and/or ask a family doctor to diagnose and treat it.

See your eye doctor: Hard to say what it is based on what you've provided, but your eye doctor can see it under slit lamp microscopy to help you out further. It could be anything ranging from dry eyes, to allergic conjunctivitis, to blepharitis, to another 'itis' (meaning inflammation). The fact that it's sore or painful means it needs to be seen by a professional. Don't delay!
