recently my right eye hurts a bit when i move my eye around. i pressed on the left side part of that eye it hurts and feels much softer than usual.

May be a sign of...: inflammation in the eye. When the eye in inflammed the structure in the eye that makes fluid can shut down and the eye pressure can go very low, hence a softer feeling eye. I would suggest being seen soon by an eye care provider as this would likely need prescription treatment.

I saw a patient yesterday for the same thing and he had a piece of rust in the eye for at least 2 weeks!  i removed it and he felt better immediately...

Many things: What is the history?  Did you have an injury?  Is the vision affected?  Is the eye red?  Is there discharge or pus? Is the eye light sensitive?  Is the eye red ?  Are the lids swellen or bruised?    So many questions.  If the answer to any of these is positive or if the pain persists, you should see your ophthalmologist to determine the source and get relief.

I would suggest that if you have persistent pain which lasts more than a week you might consider seeing an eye doc.
