Rarely is it serious: &amp; yes pinched nerve causing pain into  arm is cervical radiculopathy. 90% are treated non op &amp; get better-10% require surgery with &gt; 90% success rate. Rarely do disc herniations cause any significant neurologic or nerve injuries with only 20% of herniations leading to any neurologic findings on exam.  See a neurologist, neurosurgeon, orthopedic spine surgeon or physiatrist or pain management.

Insufficient data: Does "neuro" mean neurologist or neurosurgeon? Why did you meekly accept the answer but then post here? Ask doc to explain the neuroanatomy: EXACTLY what cervical levels, roots &amp;/or nerves are affected &amp; which ones involve breathing &amp; which swallowing. Ask to review test results (MRI, CT, myelogram or EMG/NCS). Finally, if no treatment is recommended, I suggest seeking another opinion.

Time and Relaxation: Pinched nerves can sometimes be treated non-medically by the application of heating pads, massage, accupuncture as well as the use of nsaids such as motrim.  Nothing will give you immediate relief. If symptoms persist, or become unbearable, then you may want to consult a spine surgeon.

what other pain relief can i take with orphenadrine. i have a pinched nerve in my neck and i cant get the pain to stop, even though i have taken 2 x100mg orphenedrine.can i take codiene or paracode?

Yes: You can take either but they are sedating and can be additive to orphendrine.  Ibuprofen can also be taken.

Maybe: This one is hard to say without examining your shoulder as it can be hard to distinguish pain arising from shoulder conditions such as impingement or rotator cuff tendonitis from neck conditions such as bulging disc.  Need to be examined to truly discern where the problem is from.  Xrays can be normal in either condition.

Only A or B?: I've never heard of a mini heart attack, but I expect your heart may not be as healthy as some 22 yr olds'. A cervical disc problem may be found, but I'm not happy trying to select A or B. You are heading down a bad highway and the pains and distress that you'll be heading toward make this look like a walk in the park. Please do comsider making changes. Talk to older folk about it life.

Non operatively as : 90% get better with time but treatment can include: medication, exercise, activity modification, physical therapy & even pain management via injections like epidural steroid injections.  For those that do not respond to a satisfactory degree & imaging studies correlate with symptoms & physical exam findings, surgery can be done with the type of surgery dependent on the causes of the nerve issue.

i have cysts, buldging disk., degeneration &pinch nerve in back neck &hip.would it hurt me if i used a exercise bike .

Only you would know: Hurt and harm are two different things. There is no harm in trying whatever aerobic fitness you desire. If comfortable, then continue. If painful, you need to decide if the end result is really worth it. I would suspect if you have sciatica from a disk problem, sitting would be worse than a treadmill. On the contrary, if spinal stenosis, then bike would be much better tolerated due to flexed back.

in 2016 mri was done neck because pain on back left shoulder. 7 disk issues and 2 pinch nerves. . now the excruciating pain has came back. can hospital help. feels like arm is being torn off. and more. please help. need relief?
