Yes: There is a thin muscle called the platysma just under the skin of the neck. Exercises can strengthen and tighten the skin. There are many exercises available on internet to demonstrate them .

Local myalgia: Presenting symptoms include muscle stiffness, and primary tension type headache  palpable tenderness, and pain with active muscle contractions. Symptoms usually subside within a short period of time without any residual effects. Rec. See your pcp for evaluation and physical therapy treatment.

neck hurts from the back of my head down and on both sides and it feels tight i lift alot of heavy stuff at work. what can i do?

Neck pain: Would consider PT,  massage, liftign techniques, Aleve (naproxen) if not  allergic and or flexeril at night. Warm shower in AM, ice when home from work If  lifting constantly consider breaks every 30 minutes for 1-2 minutes to shake out neck . may consider a few days of neck collar, sometimes at night it helps the neck from rolling all over  f/u with doc /urgent care ..

See a physician.: You probably have a trapezius strain. You should consult your physician. Your symptoms are caused due to muscle spasm. Your physician can prescribe you some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication and muscle relaxants  and or physical therapy which will help to alleviate your pain.

Possibly allergic...: Patches of red, sometimes itchy, skin can appear anywhere on the body due to genetics, allergies, or environmental conditions. Heat rash or stress can cause blotchy skin to appear on the face, chest, and neck. Some detergents, perfumes, dyes, or fabric can also irritate the skin. Autoimmune diseases should be considered as well. Length of time of the rash and associated symptoms would be helpful.

Need exam: We can not say what is causing it, it may be coming from your teeth or gums or something in the mandible of some kind of infection or inflsmmation or an insect bite .It needs to be checked to find what it may be.So see your doctor soon.
