Easy: exercise. Shift diet to veg, salad, fruit and fish twice weekly. Double check with your doc that nothing weird is going on - there are some rare diseases that can do it also. Good luck.

See your doctor: Usually after major surgery you may have limited range of motion and I advised against attempting any exercise routine on your own without proper instruction and guidance. Please follow up with the Surgeon and follow their instructions. Its likely that you will at some point start a specific physical therapy regimen to address the muscles affected by your surgery.

Possibly: If you are exercising and having acute pain while doing the exercises, you may need to rethink this activity. Also if you have severe pain or prolonged pain the next day after exercise you may be overdoing it. Talk to your doctor  about it.

Advice: Stay active but don't overdo. Avoid situations/movements known to hurt/aggravate your pain. Try to do light stretches, preferably after you have warmed up your back if heat is helpful.
Antiinflammatory medications such as ibuprofen/naproxen are mainstay of therapy. Occasionally, stronger medication such as tramadol or hydrocodone may be used for severe/breakthrough pain. Takes ~ 6 weeks to improve.

my things on the side are hurting, especially when i move. the one side is more sore that the other. the pain  start from my mid-hip and move to the rest of the leg. today i could not exercise at all, the squatting seems to have made it worse. ?
