ive been struggling to get over a bad period of time which was only last year before my marriage to my husband. there was to much chaos and fighting with his family & negativity & hate i tried a therapist but no luck please give advice/ exercise .

Try another: It is common that not everybody gets the right therapist 1st time around, therapist are people wiht individual personalities, I suggest trying another before giving up on the concept

i have righ shoulder strain. my therapist asked me to do exercises to loosen the tendons as a treatment.. this causes more pain. is it ok to exercise?

Gentle exercise: ; stretching. Should help, if not reevaluation by pcp.

i'm a  male with lumbar disc pain. i use stretching exercise & massage to alleviate what is usually mild to moderate pain. i find, too, wearing a stretching lumbar belt (with velco on either end) to be helpful . my massage therapist said one of his client

Strengthening: You need to add abdominal & low back strengthening to your stretching. The belt will weaken your abdominal muscles even though it feels good.

Anxiety tx. : First do you do any stimulants?  Caffeine, nicotine, rx, otc, street drugs, etc?  If not get a complete physical with bloodwork to r/o medical cause for anxiety and racing heart. I take it u have apt. With therapist. Consider yoga, breathing exercises and possibly vallarian root as it is a herb that has been used for insomnia & anxiety. Max dose 400-450mg. Start low dose and gradually increase.

what's the difference in treatment between what a lumbar spine exercise therapist and what a chiropractor can offer in relation to a flat lower spine?

Muscles and Bones: A therapist will work with you to strengthen muscles to bring the body into better alignment and health. It is very much about curing your problems.

A chiropractor will manipulate the bones to temporarily bring some relief or attempt to bring relief. But there  is very little they can offer in the way of solving your problem.

besides for good diet + exercise, are there any effective, safe pills to aid weight loss? like kidney bean extract or lipozene etc. i struggle with occasional binging that makes me gain weight, therapist suggested i ask doc about safe weight loss pil

Talk to your primary: For most weight loss "pills" (or medically supervised weight loss) you will need to see a physician in real life. Most are controlled substances, although not all. Weight loss medical regimens have to be tailored to the individual case and weight should be closely montiored while on therapy. All of the options have side effects which need to be watched as well. Your doctor can definitely help. :)

Sometimes not always: There are fantastic therapists which charge far less than others....But fees are based on expertise, training, experience and sometime location. Licensed psychologists and psychiatrists have more training and generally charge more than other mental health professionals, and this is usually worth it.  In-demand therapists are also less likely to sign poor reimbursement rate hmo contracts.
