Why the wait? : Obesity, exerting pressure on your back and lower limbs joints, with nerves affected too, knee pain could be originating from your hips, and the shooting pain can be due to pinched nerves or sciatica. Bottom line, you have to be seen, lose weight and not hope to be treated online, good luck

Nonsurgically: Conservative treatment initially: nsaids, physical therapy, and possible cortisone injection. Surgery only if no better with conservative care.

i have knee pain from obesity. so i start to exercising at the gym. but when i run or walk, i feel knee pain, so it's a dilemma. how to exercise?

Ride ex. bike: You can try an exercise bike, swimming or using the elliptical machine... Once you begin to lose weight(in conjunction w/dieting) you may be able to return to fast walking and possibly jogging.Its' always a good idea to seek the advice/ guidance of a certified trainer as well.See your pcp . Gl!

Change: Possibly related to early osteoarthritis.  Weight loss will slow progression of oa of knees and help with pain.  Would recommend switching to exercises that spare the knee such as bicycling, swimming etc till knee symptoms improve.

Best to ask surgeon: Your ability to progress to cardio exercise (stationary bike, elliptical, etc.) after knee arthroscopy depends upon what exactly was done in your knee. A simple meniscal tear debridement (pain "removal") requires minimal internal healing and may allow very rapid return to desired activites (10-14 days). If internal healing is required (acl reocnstruction or other "repair") expect 3-6 week delay.

Hmmm?: Depends why your knee pains you in the first place; initially i would not recommend any strenuous activity/exercise...Just rest it; maybe an ice pack.  If you continue to suffer try a mild dose of Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen).  If you are still without relief then please get to your doctor for a more detailed examination...Better to get the approrpiate diagnosis and correct treatment than trial and error.

No: Fibrillation means you have some roughness of the surface of the acl that dose not cause your knee to slip out, it is a sign arthritis or slight damage to the ligament.

Exercise class: Back off with the more strenuous, painful exercises. Stick with light weight and stretching til you get painless good range of motion at the joint. If still problems, see the orthopedc surgeon.

Bubble and squeak.: This is thought to be the result of little bubbles moving around the joint spaces, perhaps a very early sign of arthritis in some people. But if it doesn't hurt, and the range of motion is unchanged, it is not harmful - I have had a similar problem in one ankle since childhood!

should you continue working out if joints ache or crack or pop ? (knees and shoulders) if so what types of exercise should you do and how often?

Change up: If you have joint aching (and not aching muscles from working out) then I would try a new exercise for a while.  Swimming is usually easy on the knees, biking is certainly easier on the shoulder.  Maybe alternate those two and do not "overdo" it for a couple weeks.
