i have ms and my leg buckles when i'm trying to walk or exercise.  how do i stop this.

Assessment: Need to be assessed to determine what and why this is happening. It depends on whether this is a new problem or an old problem, the results of the neurologic exam and MR imaging, and what therapy you are on already. There are medicines that can improve MS symptoms and some that can "modify" the disease. You may also benefit from physical therapy. Happy to see you for a virtual consult to address.

after physical activity with legs, they felt strained, shaky, weak for about 30 min. after. no ms already tested. can this be from lack of exercise?

Accepted Answer

Activity: If you were strained and shaky after about 30 minutes, you need to "slow down" a bit until you are comfortable enough to get back where you wanted.
Take your time and in a few weeks or so you will be pleased at what you can do.
Don't overdo anything.

can numbess in part if leg be only symptom of ms or would there be tingling and pain with it usually?

: Numbness alone is not a symptom of multiple sclerosis.

NOT MS: You have problems in the PERIPHERAL nerves.  MS involves the CENTRAL nervous system, i.e., brain, spinal cord, and eyes.  Your meralgia paresthetica had NO relationship to MS.

Have flu ?: If  recently had flu symptoms, maybe gillian barre. Visit hospital please. Ascending weakness  will affect breathing.

Accepted Answer

Questions: Do you have a diagnosis of MS?  Or are you wondering about the significance of your symptoms?  Pts with MS have a much higher incidence of migraine and other headaches, and ice pick headaches are a variant of migraine which can be prevented by some meds.  The heaviness in your legs may be due to hot ambient surroundings, but could be due to lumbar stenosis or vascular claudication.  See neurology.

i have sensations in  legs, like someone is pulling a guitar chord. i feel them move around, but can't see anything. ms?

Accepted Answer

MS unlikely, but: You may have early symptoms of issues involving peripheral nerves.  Have your doctor do full exam, as it is possible that this is rather benign and you can get reassured by normal outcomes.

can ms cause weakness in legs and twitching?

Accepted Answer

Potential causes: Many possible etiologies, including problems within brain, neck, middle and lower spines. Certainly, MS can present with leg weakness and spasticity, and often these initial lesions are within the spinal cord in the neck.  But your description can apply to many other causes and best to have a neurologist assess the situation and decide an approach to confirm diagnosis.

ms for 28 years. mostly use wheelchair. will a rowing machine be beneficial? can still stand with assistance but need to strengthen legs.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Anything that promotes physical fitness in MS is beneficial. Avoid overexertion as overheating can worsen MS symptoms. If you are not taking Ampyra, (dalfampridine) which is for improving ambulation in MS, you should ask your neurologist about it.

when i bend my neck i get a warm sensation down my left leg. it feels like warm water pouring down my leg. what could cause this? could it be ms?

Position is Key: The fact that you can reproduce these symptoms by replicating a movement or position links the diagnosis to a musculoskeletal origin.  You likely have changes in your cervical spine (neck area) that with the right movement can be made to impinge on a small area of your spinal chord....Which would explain your repeatable symtomology.  Ms would not be positional.
