Post artery stent: Your doc who placed the stent, or who ordered the stent placed will be the best to answer your question. In general the location of the stent, (heart, leg, neck, pelvis, kidney) and the symptoms will be determinants in your recovery. In general recovery and return to activity is much sooner with stents than with open surgical procedures.

Varies: If you have not had a lot of complications and the stent procedure is elective, you may not even need to stay in the hospital.  It is not uncommon to stay a day though.  You can usually work right away, but it depends on whether you develop any pain, which will vary person to person.

No: Atherosclerosis can occur in any arteries in the body. The most prevalent are cardiac, extremity, and  cerebral. In addition, people die from their co- morbidities, such as lung problems, cancer, etc. If you have coronary atherosclerosis, you have a higher chance of dying from that, but not exclusively from that.

Different : Warfarin is a blood thinner that prevents blood clots which works systemically on all parts of the body including lower extremities.  Plavix (clopidogrel) following stents is recommended to prevent stents from closing off.  Both can increase risk of bleeding.

YES!!!: Aspirin and Plavix (clopidogrel) help prevent clotting of heart stents.  Plavix is recommended for 1 year after a drug-coated stent and 30 days for a bare metal stent.  There is still a small risk of stents clotting late. Discuss with your doctor.

Ureteral: You are referring to a ureteral stent. It is placed through a cystoscope.How do you know this is what you need. If you know you have a stone go to a urologist.
