is it odd to have three colon polyps removed during the same procedure, or is multiple-polyp removal common?

Accepted Answer

No: It is not odd to have several polyps removed at the time of a colonoscopy. The intent is to remove all polyps found unless you happen to have familial polyposis in which case there may be thousands of polyps and obviously they can't all be removed.

can i undergo endometrial polyp removal if i am having yeast infection and bv? im hoping to clear the yeast and bv first but the infection is so frequent, im afraid i will still have it during surgery?

Accepted Answer

: Those conditions are easily treated and you have to be infection free before having the polypectomy. If you are treated and asymptomatic, go ahead with the procedure.

Remove it.: I would recommend removing it before conception, as it could interfere with implantation or cause bleeding during pregnancy.

Depends: Most cervical polyps are benign and surgical removal results in a cure without ill effects on conception or pregnancy. Not sure what you mean by natural remedies.  It is important to get it removed and the specimen sent to a pathologist for evaluation.

Wait until after: They are annoying but there is no good medicine to use during pregnancy.

why would polyps on cervix cause spotting during pregnancy if untouched by intercourse or anything else?

Accepted Answer

Polyps are "friable": Not in a pan!  they are very fragile and are able to grow by producing there own blood vessels which lack supporting structure.  As  you move the polyps move vwhich even in the absence of direct touch leads to bleeding. They are rarely cancerous and are commonly found because of bleeding even in pregnancy. It is rare for them to be dangerous but the bleeding can be irritating,  not usually heavy.

if i get pregnant with a 1cm uterine polyp. i don't want surgery. will it grow to be really big during pregnancy ?

Shouldnt grow: Pregnancy should not cause a polyp to grow. However, it could get in the way of implantation if you conceive. Also, it could bleed while you are pregnant.

Polyp/uterine: A uterine polyp is a growth from the lining of the uterus, and is not a threat to a pregnancy in any way, will not "tear or burst", nor cause an amniotic fluid embolism.  Polyps can cause some bleeding when they twist and cut off their blood supply, but are not a cause for concern in pregnancy.

is mild bleeding three days after d & c and polyp removal normal?

Accepted Answer

Yes it is.: Your doctor should have informed you that mild vaginal bleeding is normal after such procedures. In the absence of fever and large blood clots per vaginam, you should be fine and able to wati until your pathology review appointment in 2 weeks.

i experienced a strong burning sensation that lasted  for a few hours after polyp removal. it still hurts to sit down. is this common?

Accepted Answer

It depends where was: the polyp. If it was inside your colon there should be no pain.  If this was on the outside, sometimes more accurately called a skin tag, that could be sore for some time afterward.  If it is 48 to 72 hours after the removal and you are still significantly sore, you should call and discuss with the person who removed the polyp.
