: Femilon Tablet is a contraceptive which is used for prevention of pregnancy. Can affect periods, could also affect mensuration (bleeding)  but nothing else. Talk to you prescribing doctor, make sure he  or she understands your concerns.

If your cycles return to normal over the next few months then one abnormal cycle is not an issue. Always make sure your pregnancy test is negative. If you are not on birth control consider starting which will also give you better cycle control.

Birth control pills, the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud, or prescription Lysteda are medical options. An outpatient endometrial ablation is a good option for many women. An ultrasound can determine of uterine fibroids are present as well.

Emergencies: If its much more than your usual bleeding, get checked immediately.  If you feel faint or actually pass out, call for an ambulance to take you to the emergency dept.  If your periods are always very heavy, see your doctor to get them under control so you don't have to few red blood cells (anemia) and the problems anemia can cause.
