Alert surgeon: Without knowing the actual surgery on your knee (arthroscopy debridement, acl repair? Etc), it's best to contact your surgeon to get better answers or it'll just add worry and stress to your recovery.  Best of luck.

should i be in so much pain on my left side after surgery? they did an appendectomy and looked at my bowel also. i have bruising on the left side.

Maybe: A certain amount of discomfort after surgery is expected. If your pain is worsening, a check in with your surgeon is appropriate. Fevers and increased abdominal distension days after surgery might indicate other problems such as abscess or hematoma.

excessive belching and nausea after surgery (gynecological). 2 wks post op. some malaise and twinges. some chills/feeling cold as well.

any help is greatly appreciated. called office for apptmt which is soon. any ideas for now ? thanks !!

Take your temp: If  101, let your doctor know right away.
If able to tolerate liquids, hold your diet to that  of  now.
If no bowel movements let your doctor know right away.

what is the chance of getting an esophageal disorder after surgery? had acdf surgery in nov. i've been clearing my throat of excess mucus since. then i developed severe pain when swallowing &"tickle cough". nystatin helped but i got sick upon using?

: During the ACDF surgery, the esophagus is moved aside for approaching the spine so complication may involve the esophagus. If you have not seen a gastroenterologist for these symptoms you should be referred. A swallowing study (esophagram) can be ordered by your primary doctor in the mean time if not done yet.

Blood: You may have had some bleeding into the tissue at time of surgery.  Give it time it may still fade.

Yes: It takes a long time for a bruise to resolve.

Position during: The position of your arm during surgery most likely is the cause.  Need to let your surgeon know about it.   Sometimes the position of your though convienent for the anesthesiologist or surgeon is not acceptable if a longer procedure without proper padding.

i  fell on the right side low down of my bottom, big bruise. does a fall cause clots to form/ to have cataract surgery 2 weeks after fall?

No, and no: The fall caused the bruise.  It is a collection of blood in the muscle, not a clot that could go anywhere.  A bruise could not cause cataract surgery if that was your question, nor should it interfere with cataract surgery.  Just mention it to your surgeon.  S/he may do blood work to make sure that your blood clotting is normal.  Good luck!

had laproscopic gallbladder surgery 6 weeks ago. i still feel pain at the site. maybe a pulling or internal bruising feeling. is something wrong?

Could be stitch : Some times the dissolving stitch may be causing , you will be fine go back to your surgeon for follow up visit.

Normal: I assume that you are describing a laparoscopic surgery. It would be normal early after surgery to have some swelling and bruising around a laparoscopic incision site. Some people bruise a little more than others. Ask your surgeon if you are concerned.
