is excedrin tension headache safe while pregnant?

: I assume you're asking on behalf of someone else. Excedrin contains aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine. It's probably okay to use Excedrin sparingly during the third trimester, but it would be prudent to avoid anything that contains aspirin and/or caffeine throughout the pregnancy. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is OK.

NEED TO SORT OUT: If your hypertension is causing headaches, it would be profoundly elevated, and is crucial to control this immediately.  Alternatively, your headaches could be due to migraine, dental or jaw problems, sinus issues, low thyroid fnctn, neck problems, etc.  Many meds are available, ; most do not adversely affect blood pressure other than beta blockers and calcium channel blockers.  See your doctor.

Many ways to try...: A variety of strategies can help reduce the severity and frequency of chronic tension headaches without using medicine. Manage your stress level. Applying heat or ice to sore muscles may ease a tension headache. Good posture can also help keep your muscles from tensing up. Acupuncture, massage and meditation are also helpful for some people.

Tongue paresthesia: Numbness, tingling sensation, and other symptoms involving the tongue are not uncommon side effects of amytriptiline (elavil). Keep in mind that combination of headache and tongue numbness may be due to a linked and more serious neurological condition and not necessarily be from the amytriptiline.

Depends.: If your headache continues attended by other symptoms such as blurred vision, nausea and vomiting, you may need to see a doctor. Depending on how hard you hit the wall , lost consciousness, had nausea ,dizziness and the headache, you might have suffered a mild concussion.

Yes, TTH: Tension type headache. The headaches are usually bilateral and diffuse and often have tenderness in the temples, cervical muscles (neck) as well as the pericranial muscles. Rec.: see orofacial pain/headache specialist for evaluation and treatment.
