Ibuprofen: For pain, Ibuprofen 600mg every 4-6 hours.  However, this will only mask the symptoms.  Visit your dentist to get evaluated.  You don't want it to get worse!

Infection: Viral or bacterial. You have had this for a week, I would seek treatment and make sure it is not strep.

Numerous options: It might be from vocal cord ulcer, vocal cord arthritis, infection, neuritis, or tumor.  If it persists more than two to three weeks then see ENT for full evaluation.

It could be: Irritation/inflammation from post nasal drip, acid reflux.Allergens; infection from a virus or bacteria etc. Gargling with warm salt water or listerine and taking tylenol (acetaminophen) may help. Go see your dr for reassurance.Take care!

Be  seen: Most likely a result of the punch...Homeopathic arnica can be very helpful. I f the pain is getting worse or you are having increasing problems swallowing you need to be seen.

for about 3 months ive been having a sore throat that comes and goes only on the left side. its not super persistent, as it does not hurt every time i swallow but more so if i open up my throat. i cant help but think its cancer, am only 23?

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. Cancer is highly unlikely, however, three months is a long time for a sore throat. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably an ENT doctor.
