Some basics: To have any 3rd party (insurance) pay for an MRI you would have to meet their criteria which include exam findings &amp; duration of problem. I doubt seriously they would approve it based on your post. Blood work is also unnecessary unless physical findings suggest the need. If you are willing to pay out of pocket for all rather than give it a rest/wait, you can likely find someone willing to do it.

how do i get rid of knee pain after running every am?

New shoes: Start with a gait analysis. If you are an under or over pronator and your shoes aren't correcting for it, that could be the cause. Go to a good running shoe store and have them do a gait analysis, it's free. They can recommend shoes and/or orthotics to correct the problem.

Get knee evaluated: Then get the knee evaluated, preferably by an orthopedist. Based on your history of morbid obesity the pain is likely related to either arthritis or a tear.

Derangement : Hot painful joints are foreboding of arthridity be it degenerative traumatic inflammatory or septic.  They can all feel equal at first. Knee pain swelling and heat are very nonspecific rheumatologist won't worry unless symmetrical & chronic 6 months and in more than 3 joints.  Visit orthopedist for xray MRI exclude septic joint. Meniscal tear cruciate ligament injury or gout-pseudogout urate capo4.

Persistent knee pain: Knee injuries can take a while (weeks to months) to heal. If the pain is associated with other symptoms such as rash, fatigue, or fever, another evaluation may be necessary.

my dr put me on tylenol 3 for knee pain. how long does it take to kick in. i take it after i get done with pt. it says 1-2 tabs every 6 hrs as needed.

1-2 hours: Most patients get some pain relief from this type of medication within 1-2 hours. However, even though T-3 is a narcotic pain med, it is relatively weak. Slipped meniscus?: Hard to be certain but we call this internal derangement of the knee. In this case you may have cartilage that slips about. You will need an evaluation  and imaging to clarify this.

Unusual: Late teenage female with severe bilateral knee pain with range of motion has an unusual problem.  Absent a history of bilateral knee injury, these symptoms suggest an autoimmune arthritic problem or an inherited problem of joint hypermobility syndrome.  A rheumatologist would be the type of medical specialist to consult.

i get really bad knee pain and it gets really hard to walk up stairs or move things around. i exercise and stretch im only 19 is there something wrong?

Something wrong: You need to see your primary doctor. If he/she can help you that's fine. If not you will be referred to a joint specialist. Have your doctor refer you.
