Persistent knee pain: Knee injuries can take a while (weeks to months) to heal. If the pain is associated with other symptoms such as rash, fatigue, or fever, another evaluation may be necessary.

Yes: See an Orthopedic knee specialist- ER docs often cannot tell you specifically - a sprain means a tear of a ligament and some sprains are severe
