: I would recommend that you take your dose today as soon as it is possible. The least amount of time between doses is very important so that you do not have a reaction to the missed dose. After this, try to take your medicine at approximately the same time each day.

: Is the hyperventilation symptoms the result of anxiety? If so, perhaps seek counseling for the anxiety from a psychologist. You can take the medicine at the higher dose to get the symptoms under control while you are being counseled. Once you are taught alternate ways of dealing with the anxiety, then lower the med dosage with the intent of stopping it if the symptoms remain resolved. Good luck!

Not a good idea: It can lower effectiveness and heighten risk of side effects. Reports of anxiety, extreme sleepiness and worse depression are common. If you do decide to take a chance, limit to one drink and plan for someone you trust to watch you for problems. Plan to have someone else drive if necessary. You're worth taking care of - be safe!
