Yss,If done : Correctly and at the  right time. Urine tests start turning positive about 7-10 days after a missed period. Blood test is more sensitive and may start turning positive about 2-3 days after a missed period.

Testing too soon: Main thing is timing-it takes time (up to 2 wks) for your urinary levels of HCG to get elevated enough to be detected. Over-the-counter tests aren't always as sensitive as tests at your doctor's office, but even those usually take at least a few days after you're late to turn positive. Recheck 1-2 weeks later if you're late for your period & suspect you might be pregnant.

Can retest in 1 week: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon.

So you could test now, but if it's negative, then the best thing would be to follow up with the reproductive endocrinologist, because the blood tests are much more accurate than the urine tests.
