i had a epidermoid cyst drained week ago. i went back today and it was still infected. i had no fever or streaks coming from the area. he removed it completely & sent home with more antibiotics. should removal of cyst and the antibiotics help?

Excising a cyst : Yes, surgical removal of the cyst should be curative.  It is critical that the entire cyst sac be removed or recurrence is common.  Complete your full course of antibiotics and if there is recurrence then maybe a referral to a surgeon is warranted.

No: When a cyst is removed the surgeon usually closes the incision unless there is an infection. I usually leave these open and let them close when they are ready.

Probably yes: Epidermis cyst are smooth walled, fairly soft, &amp; often move easily beneath skin &amp; are not tender (unless they become inflamed or infected)   They are most often round but could definitely be oval or elongated in shape at times. Yours could definitely be that, but if it enlarges or becomes red or painful have Dr check it

None: These are essentially synonyms.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Healing surgery: If you saw your physician at a week out, and the scar is crusted over and dry, further bandaging is likely unnecessary unless needed to protect the area.  Depends on location.

Varies: I would discuss with your doctor, but in general would be safe as soon as the wound is clearly healed; which is usually about 10-14 days
