Ask an ENT: Audiologists do the test, but if the test is not perfect, see an otolaryngologist - an ear, nose and throat physician.   An ENT physician can do both .See also:

Both actually: Most ENT work with audiology to assure a complete assessment of one's hearing.  Obviously, you'll need a thorough hearing evaluation (from audiologist) but you'll also need an assessment of your ear anatomy and physiology  to understand the reasons for hearing loss.

ENT: Recommend seeing an ENT first to rule out certain disorders associated with hearing loss. Then the audiologist.

ent and audiologist say ears are fine but i can't clear them when i fly. worse on descent. ent says tmj. can tmj cause ears to block when flying?

Optic Fullness: Allergies, sinusitis, deviated septums all can cause your ears to block with altitude changes. I am not aware that TMJ issues can cause this problem.

who in pretoria can assist me i only have keycare ,
already have a reference letter from my gp ,
now i need to source a specialist in pta ?

ent/audiologist question: can regularly wearing ear plugs throughout the night damage hearing and, if so, what is the rationale for your opinion?

No: Wearing ear protection from partner's snoring will not damage your hearing.

i am having ear pain. been to ent, was told i had a retracted ear drum. went to audiologist, test wast normal. could it be polatous or a tumor?

Ear pain: Follow-up with ENT about the retracted eat drum and what to do to correct it.  I am assumiing ENT looked at your ear and did not see another abnormality like a tumor or anything else.

occasional vertigo persists despite brain mri/gp, ent, audiologist, neuro exams. can a sinus issue be the cause? i've never had a sinus x-ray.

Vertigo: if your MRI is negative and your ENT found no vestibular pathology to explain your symptoms then the next step is a neurology consult for CNS pathology. If it's really lightheaded ness and not actual vertigo you need cardiovascular evaluation as well as review of your prescribed or recreational drugs and social activities. No use for sinus x- Rays.
