Advance lung damage: End stage pulmonary fibrosis is a common term that we use when we do not feel that our medications can reverse or improve the lung damage caused by the lung fibrosis.  At that point, we consider the patient for lung transplantation.

It depends: Pulmonary fibrosis caused by bleomycin may be permanent, although it can improve over time.  Pulmonary fibrosis caused by gemciteabine usually improves.  It's less likely to go away the longer you received the drug.  Radiation therapy that included the lungs increases the risk for permanent pulmonary fibrosis.

Hoping so!: I'm going to assume that alcohol is the sole cause, and that he's been checked for hemochromatosis, Wilson's, and hepatitis B and C. If he does choose to stop drinking, having a loving and forgiving wife will be the most wonderful support he can have. Cirrhosis does regress some on achieving sobriety. Hopefully his mind is still basically okay. Wishing you both the best.

Scar: It depends on the context.  On a chest x-ray or ct, it probably refers to scar that forms a line or curve on the film.  This may indicate prior illness or injury, but is not specific.  Fibrosis (scarring) can sometimes limit the function of an organ, but may not be important.

Myoma Fibroids?: There are many options.  Hysterectomy is the definitive solution.   Myomectomy, magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound surgery (mrgfus or fus) (eg, exablate® 2000), uterine artery embolizaiton, endometrial ablation are other options.  There are medical options such as with hormonal therapy.  A competent gynecologist should be discuss these options.

It means: there is an area of scarring in the upper part of your right lung.  It could be due to many causes, such as prior infection, but if it is an incidental finding and you are otherwise asymptomatic it may be of no concern.  Talk to your doc about the results.

Symptoms include back or flank pain, and decreased kidney function
