It depends: If you have a potentially terminal illness, or are looking for a complete cancer progam you might.
If you need cardiac surgery, orthopedics or other advanced care it is not likely to influence the decision.
You want to pick a hospital based upon  your needs, and the reputation of the staff and the hospital itself.

If true hospice care: Yes, if it is true hospice care. However, some hospice services also provide "bridge care" for patients whose end is not quite in sight yet (it's like palliative care). Hospice services are a wonderful asset to have at the end of one's life. We all have an end. When our end is in sight, hospice is the way to go. It lets one die a good death, at home, pain-free, worry-free, in peace and quiet.

Patient's wishes: Hopefully the patient in question expressed their end of life preferences before they became unable to make their own choices. When a care plan of hospice is enacted, the focus is on comfort, which is a great thing. Sometimes a patient's death may be hastened by focusing more on comfort (say by giving morphine) but hospice is more of a BIG PICTURE type care plan. These discussions are complex.

You can have some id: It is difficult to predict exactly but you can have some estimate most time. Before she passes she will gradually decline in her general health and activity level. As long as she can get out of the bed and move, she has a month or two to go. If she is bed fast, then her food intake and alertness level along with her other body functions will give you signals of how close she is to pass.

: Don’t know details but I would expect her not to leave hospital alive based on what you told me.  But you MUST discuss with local Dr who knows her.

Simple....: Hydration, fruits and vegetables, if she can take. If not miralax/Metamucil regularly. Medicine Amitza is a good help so also Linzess....may have to adjust the dose as per effect.

: Skin mottling affects typically feet and legs, her chest skin changes may have a different cause, based on actual pattern. Stay in touch with her current providers/hospice staff that can further clarify. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Another thought: I'm wondering if you meant, is hospice care compassionate? The idea of hospice is to provide specialized medical care for someone who is near the end of life, and their family--and usually patients and families find that hospice care is very compassionate--at its best hospice addresses all the aspects of dying.
