Not necessarily : They sometimes with or without the proper test can be confused with each other especially with doing just a Chest Xray.The both cause changes on imaging and they both cause shortness of breath.A Cat scan should be able to distinguish between the two.However,a PE causes damages to the lung which may be prone to Pneumonia.Also either can cause prolonged bed rest and can lead to the other.

Pre COVID: If the patient has pre existing lung disease prior to the COVID 19 pandemic, they are at increased risk for complications. The milder the pre existing condition, the less likely they are to develop serious complications. Avoid contacts, social distancing and a flu vaccine is recommended.

Depending on the circumstances in which you had the pulmonary embolism plus elevation of the Lupus Anticoagulant test; can point out a higher risk of recurrence for venous thrombotic and embolic events.

D-dimer: Is a rather nonspecific test and it helps mostly when is negative ruling out acute thromboembolism. In your case the test failed to rule it out and that's why you underwent CT angio. With your symptoms, you should still seek medical attention trying to find out a source that at this time and with limited information seems to be likely infectious, among others. Hope it helps.

Evaluation: Rinse nasal passages with saline and keep well hydrated. Monitor for fever and if you have prolonged cough &gt; 3 weeks or chest discomfort, please see a physician. 
Most likely you had a viral illness which is lingering, but will resolve with a little bit more time.
