i have to wear a portable at home heart rate monitor but the pregelled electrodes make my skin itch. thoughts to lessen or stop the itching?

Electrode itch: You can try skin moisturizer before putting on the electrodes. Dry skin cracks get irritated by the salts in the gel. Sometimes the moisturizer helps. If it's allergy, this won't work, neither for sensitivity.

i am wearing a holter monitor and put an electrode on my skin where hair had been ripped up. now there are blisters. should i be concerned?

Allergic to adhesive: Not infrequent.  Tell technician to use different pad.

Urodynamics: This is a test which gives a urologist information to help make a diagnosis of things like bladder obstruction or overactivity.  It takes about 30 min to do and is actually a combination of a few tests.

For which procedure: Cleansing the skin can help to remove dead skin, dirt, sweat and oil that could impede electrical conductivity.

Better conduction.: the preparation doesn't have to be that great. But if there is hair/grease/ or clothes, the electrodes don't stick!

Smaller amounts of oil make the electrical flow not predictable and may give wrong readings.

had ssep test. tech could not get some areas to twitch. so she pushed electrodes hard onto my skin to get a twitch. false normal result? wouldn't my body not twitching mean there's something wrong?

This test: Is very dependent on technique of the person doing the test. If the electrodes are not properly placed you will not get a proper result. I do not think that putting them harder into the skin will result in a false positive result. If they are not connected properly then you will get no result at all .And the test will not be able to be interpreted.

am wearing a 4 electrodes event monitor.sometimes the monitor drops off my pants waist dangling above the floor&dropped on the floor once.when the monitor dropped, it pulled down all electrodes which hurt my skin&chest.can this harm my heart&body?

No: That type of event monitor is a recording device and just detects electrical activity and records it. The device does not send out electrical signals so does not interact with the heart or other parts of the body. Nothing happens to a patient's body if the event monitor drops, hits the ground, or breaks... other than maybe free hair removal when a sticky pad suddenly pulls off.

Conductant: To lessen skin resistance.

Adhesive: It is very common that the adhesive on the electrodes cause a localized irritation/skin reaction.

20 months ago coiled aneurysm. i am worried about electrodes being placed on my head for retina angiogram test incase it affects my platinum coils. ?

No effect: I am guessing you are being tested for retinal function.  This will involve flashing lights and electrodes to pick up the signal.  An alternative test is for nerve transmission with flashing lights and electrodes on the back of the head.  Neither of these tests will interact with your platinum coils.  Enjoy the flashing lights.
