No: Chelation therapy (edta) has never been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease or prevent cholesterol deposits. Coronary stents are used to treat blocked arteries. Aspirin and Plavix (clopidogrel) are used to prevent the stent from clotting. The only treatments that have been shown to reduce the risk of coronary events are statins (cholesterol meds) and aspirin.

Average content: The MCHC is the average content of hemoglobin contained in a blood cell as calculated by the testing machine. Hemoglobin is the main working protein that transports oxygen to the tissues in the body. This 31.4 is just below the commonly posted low normal value of 32 g/dl. In a general sense it suggest the body is not adding more because of underproduction, often from iron deficiency.

Basics: EDTA is a chemical added to a blood sample so it won't clot &amp; prevent meaningful assessment. HCT means hematocrit which is the packed cellular percentage of the sample, the rest would be serum elements. The value cited is normal.

Checking Kidney: Function? 51Cr-EDTA clearance provides an accurate and objective measurement of the GFR, and it can be used to quantify renal function deterioration.  Maybe that suggests how pain medication can be cleared from your body.  So if your kidney is not functioning well, you are having a build up of metabolites causing side effects.  Speak with your doctor who ordered the tests for more info.

Blood with EDTA : Which is an anticoagulant won't cause clotting , thus blood cells and serum/ plasma are mixed and not separated in layers!

Not recommended: There is no medical evidence that taking edta is useful for any cardiovascular disease.  It should be used only under medical supervision for problems of heavy metal overload or poisoning.
