Possible swimmer's: ear (infection of ear canal). Moisture from swimming (or sometimes from showering) stays in the ear canal and makes it a good place for bacteria and fungus to grow, then causing inflammation of the ear canal. This can be very painful and the pain often radiates up to the scalp. Please see your doctor to diagnose properly and get the correct treatment.

Not sure.:  Sometimes, when people tyr to clean their ears with QTips - they end up pushing was up against the tympanic membrane, rather than removing it.  Do you have any congestion that may prevent the eustacian tube from draining - thus, causing pressure to build up?

Cerumen Impaction: Wax build up in the canal of the outer ear is very common and can lead to ear pay, decreased hearing and muffled noise. Have your ears checked by an md, avoid use of q-tips, and take advil (ibuprofen) 600 mg three times per day for pain.

Otitis externa?: The information you provided of ear pain, difficulty eating because of left side pain and pain with moving the ear is mostly consistent with otitis externa, an infection of the ear canal.  Usual culprits include chronic dermatitis or swimming (e.g. swimmer's ear).  Whatever the case, a short visit at an urgent care clinic should be able to determine the cause and provide ear drops (abx + steroid)

Cellulitis: This sounds like a soft tissue infection involving the external ear and possibly the external auditory canal.  You should be seen as soon as possible by a doctor and have this diagnosed and managed.  It can turn very severe quickly if not treated.

Could be...: Could bee infected tooth/teeth, infected gums, TMJ, split (fractured) tooth, or one of hundreds of other problems.  Can't diagnose without examination/X-rays and other tests.  Please put down the computer, pick up the phone, and call your Dentist for an emergency appointment ASAP before your chronic problem becomes an acute problem.
