Lymph node?: A lymph node resides in this area synonymous with mononucleosis  (mono / kissing disease ) If you are having other symptoms you need to be evaluated,  and possibly for lymphoma given your age and other neck pains.

Cyst: It would have been helpful to see a picture of it. If it was truly a cyst, it may never come back, it may re-occur or the site may get infected. Discuss it with a physician if you are concerned.

what happens if you pop a cyst in your ear lobe? will it damage my ears permanently?

Accepted Answer

Depends: Depends on what kind of cyst it is.  You risk infection and recurrence of the cyst.  Serious damage would not be expected though.  Before you pop it again, have your ENT take a look at it.  Most cysts, if properly removed, won't' come back.  They are also much easier to remove if they haven't been popped or infected in the past. :)

2 hard and small cysts found on the back of my ear lobe. same size since found.does not hurt until i rub them very hard. no other symptoms. need help?

Cysts: Most cysts are benign. Have your doctor follow them for size and consistency, but if they remain unchanged don't be concerned. If they grow or persist, your doctor may do a biopsy, just to be sure that it is benign.

Local infection: Could be a local infection, especially if sensitive to touch. 
Warm compress can help it come to a head. Keep area clean and it should diminish with time. If not, see your MD!

huge painful cyst on ear lobe. tried popping with a sterilized pin and it bleeds but doesn't seem to drain. it's uncomfortable what should i do?

Cyst: This may not contain liquid matter or pus, and may be a simple inclusion cyst, and you shouldn't try draining it. Have a physician or general surgeon evaluate it for diagnosis and treatment(if needed).

No: No antibiotic will get rid of any cyst.  If a cyst is infected an antibiotic directed against the infecting organism can cure the infection but the cyst will remain.

Sebaceous cyst: This is the most common lesion at that location. It may require surgical excision if it gets infected or enlarges.

Hydradenitis: Hidradenitis suppurativa  is a skin disease that  commonly affects areas bearing apocrine sweat glands or sebaceous glands, such as the underarms, breasts, inner thighs, groin and buttocks. The ear lobe is not a likely location.  You should have this seen by a doctor and if necessary referred to a dermatologist.

Either, or: Could be a swollen gland or cyst. Most likely diagnosis is  reactive lymph. Should resolve soon.
If not, see an ENT doc for exam.
