Ear infection: If drainange is pus and not ear wax then  it is probably from the ruptured tympanic membrane following middle ear iinfection

No: The worst thing you can do is clean out your ear canal with a q-tip.  You will only succeed in pushing the wax (if it exists) in further toward the ear drum.  Itching in the ear canal is usually the symptom of dryness.  Use 4 drops of mineral oil in your left ear and put a small piece of cotton batten in ear opening for 5 minutes 3 to 4 times a day and only for the itching.  Stop using q-tips.

Ear Infection: You can take tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen to help with pain. Take whatever oral or topical antibiotics that your provider prescribed for the recommended length of time.

Over the counter nasal decongestant sprays may help open up your eustachian tube, the opening from your nose to your ear. When this plugs up, we get ear infections. Gently blowing your nose with your mouth closed may clear your ears. If not, go see your primary care provider for antibiotics.

Earring infection: First make sure you do not have a hypersensitivity reaction to nickle.  Earrings should be taken out in any case.  If the infection is in the lobe of the ear it may heal on its own w/frequent cleaning w/a disinfectant cleansing agent.  If it is in the upper ear or cartilage or if it is a lobe infection that is very swollen ; painful with cellulitis you should see a doc for cultures +/- antibiotic.
