i have pink eye. sinus infection , fluid in ears. on antibiotics and eye drops its not going away and i think the neurontin (gabapentin) is making pink eye worse?

Give it time: Most "pinkeye" or conjunctivitis is actually viral, so antibiotic eye drops are usually not effective. Viral conjunctivitis tends to run it's course in 7-10 days. It can be very contagious, spreading from one eye to the other or to other people. Hand washing is essential. To be certain it is not a more serious bacterial or fungal infection, you should see an ophthalmologist.

what can i do to help get fluid out of my right ear besides these ear drops that i have been using? that isn't helping .

Fluid: If the fluid is behind the ear drum, drops won't help. You either have external otitis or otitis media. Different symptoms. 
Best advice would be to see an ENT MD to sort out your problem

Needs eval.: If they are numbing drops they may hurt in outer ear infection. If it is otitis media--middle ear, it should not hurt unless you have a perforation. It should be seen if the pain persists.
Wax can contribute to discomfort too, so can canal irritation.

See ear specialist: You did not mention how your ear started to hurt. Do you have swimmer's ear, or cold symptoms and ear pain from the inside? Soldering optic is to relieve pain and inflammation by contact. It sounds like it has not been helpful. With swelling behind the ears, and your pain when you open your mouth, the inflammation sounds severe. You need to see your doctor or an Ear. Nose. Throat specialist!

Go to the Doctor: Fluid in a baby's ears means the ear drum may be ruptured. Putting drops in a ruptured ear is painful and not appropriate. Please stop. Please take your son to the doctor today.

why might i keep having fluid build up, go away, build up, go away in ears? is this normal during an ear infection? only been 2 days on amoxicillin and ofloxacin ear drops. is safe to use steam to thin fluid and for eustachian tubes?

having dark yellow / orange fluid leaking out of ear for 2 days constantly after it's been plugged for 7 months. only put in ofloxacin ear drops. should i contact my ent or would i need to go to the hospital? not sure if csf?

: You may have an infection in your ear, and your ENT would be ideal.  Seriously doubt you are experiencing CSF otorrhea, which would be colorless fluid unless you had bacterial meningitis (but if so, you would  be too ill to post)

Fluid vs. Anxiety: Yes, your dizziness can be caused by both fluid in your ear or anxiety.  Please start w/a visit to your doc to have your ears checked out.  If all is well consider seeing a clinical psychologist to learn some ways to manage anxiety.  Peace and good health.

Ear infection: A swimmer's ear will cause sharp ear pain and drainage of fluid. A middle ear infection with a tympanic membrane perforation will also produce that.

nasonex (mometasone) a good idea for fluid in ears?

Accepted Answer

No: Nasonex (mometasone) works for rhinitis symptoms but has been shown to have no effects in the outcome of middle ear effusion. Effusion might increase the risk of getting middle ear infection. It may take several months before the fluid go away. Systemic corticosteroid may hasten the drainage.
