Maybe: Tinnitus, by blocking the conduction of external sounds will make tinnitus seem louder. Therefore, if ear wax is impairing your hearing, it's removal can improve the tinnitus.

i always try to keep my ears clean but they have been hurting and i went to clean them and there was nothing. since then the aches have migrates south?

Do they itch?: Don't know what you mean by migrate south.
If ears itch i would use Hydrocortisone cream at the opening.

i went to the doctors this morning and had my ear cleaned. now my ear feels plugged and everything is echoing. is that normal?

Cerumen impaction: It is common to have your ear  cleaned and feel a fullness or blocked sensation for hours. This could be the result of the general inflammation from the cleaning. There could be a small amount of  water in the ear canal. If the sensation persists beyond three days, have it rechecked.  It is possible that the ear was not fully cleaned and there still is residual debris or cerumen in the ear canal.

: Just to make sure all the fluid and wax have gone. If so, try to increase pressure in the middle ear by taking a deep breath, then clamp your nose with 2 fingers and forceful breath out with your mouth closed. This is the maneuver you used to do after the airplane lands and your ears are clogged. Do it a couple times and see if the symptoms resolve. Good luck.

No: I suspect that some fluid is left behind in the ear canal. Put a drop of rubbing alcohol (or Swim Ear)  in the ear and see if this helps.

Ear: Great question. The OTC treatment for ear wax doesnt really work and just makes the wax softer which makes it more clogged. See and ENT to get it cleaned out

See a Doctor: Any foreign body inserted far enough into the ear can damage, block or perforate the ear drum. If complete loss of hearing in that ear, this may be a possibility, esp if ssoc. Vertigo, nausea. If self cleaned, see md. If cleaned by med prof., notify, get seen. If slight hearing loss it might be a piece of the object still in the ear canal. Your doctor should remove the object if this is the case.

i'm a 20 year old sound engineer, is there value in getting my ears clean? i have excellent hearing but feel like my ears could be plugged.

Maybe: It could be wax..Which is easy to fix. It could be eustachian tube (tube thats connects ear to nose) dysfunction which can give you the feeling that your hearing is a bit muffled (like when you are in an airplane). The only way to know is have an md look. It can also be the start of real hearing loss. Don't be shy about having it checked since you rely on your hearing for your career!

Ear cleaning: Either the ear canal was not cleaned well and there is cerumen and epithelial debris on the eardrum. or your ear drum was perforated

No: Tinnitus is very common. Most often, it does not indicate disease. I would get your hearing tested to see if it is accompanied by hearing loss.
