Ear Block: You may have an infection, you need to see the dr asap before it gets worse, hopefully it just needs a little suction and draining.

Likely congestion: Most likely related to congestion on the right side. Sometimes positional changes can obstruct the eustachian tube more on one side than the other. If you are having symptoms of congestion or associated ear fullness on one side you can try a decongestant and see how you feel. If symptoms are progressing you can see an ent for further assessment.

ive been having a sense of ear block( like when water gets in your ear) for a couple of days, but i dont remember water entering my ear. what should i do?

Your call: Most of these are simple trapped fluid made in the middle ear that fails to drain down the Eustachian tube. It happens occasionally during allergies or URI's. Many spontaneously clear over time. Your doc can verify this if it becomes a problem.Most notice a transient reduction of hearing in the affected ear.

Ear infection.: The symptoms you are describing are consistent with a middle ear infection.  The yellow sputum can be viral or bacterial.  Hearing loss may be due to fluid in the middle ear.  In short, see an ENT doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Plasma volume during: Pregnancy increases. This can mean a sensation of swelling in many different areas of the body including the ear canal. Usually stabilizes at 26 weeks.

my left ear blocks when i lay down at night and then unblocks when i wake up.  it just started 3 days ago.  last year i had etd in that ear.  the only thing i did differently recently is take a claritin.  if its etd again can claritin make it worse?

No: Clartin will not hurt but will  not help either.  If your left ear is block only at night, I suspect that the problem is not from your ear but from your jaw particularly if you clench or grind your teeth during sleep. Consult your dentist.

Evaluation!: Any time you have headaches associated with weakness you need to be evaluated. I would call your Family Doctor ASAP.

Could be...: "blocked" or "plugged ears" are quite common with colds and upper respiratory infections. Your eustacian tubes usually drain and ventilate your middle ear. These can get blocked up and swell just like the lining of your nose when you have a cold, and then your ear can feel blocked like when you fly/change altitude. Try chewing gum, "pop" your ears and get lots of fluids and humidity.

Teeth grinding?: If you do not have nasal congestion and the ear pain is not a throbbing one, I suspect that you may be grinding your teeth at night. See a dentist.   The lack of response to prednisone and nasal spray is against nasal congestion as the cause.

URI: It sounds as though you have a upper respiratory tract infection.  These can last anywhere from a couple of days to over a week.  If you start running fevers, the symptoms get worse or you are unable to hydrate yourself, you should contact your doctor.
