ENT: i would suggest further evaluation by ENT doctor; your symptoms are not typical for post-concussive syndrome and may indicate a problem previously undiagnosed. Make the appointment very soon

Early signs: This is often a very early sign of a viral illness. I would expect it to provide more symptoms within the next 12-24 hrs to become more apparent. He could certainly take Ibuprofen for the time being &amp; put a cool compress on his forehead for comfort. The pattern does not suggest anything terrible at this point.

See a doctor: No one can tell you what will happen without guessing. You need to see your doctor who may order some tests. If you still have problems after three weeks you should be examined.

One symptom: Pain after concussion is quite common.  If you received an injury near your auditory canal some damage could have occurred to the bones in the inner ear.  A visit to a physician may be able to rule out any trauma to the ear.

Find the cause: Ear pain can caused by many different things. The best way to cure the ear ache is to make sure you are treating the right cause. I often have patients with ear ache and the cause is something that they weren't expecting (like a problem with their jaw joint).

Ear ache: Greetings. Ear aches can be quite painful and disruptive. I have treated patients with infections of the outer ear (swimmers ear)  middle ear like an acute otitis media or jaw problems (TMJ). Referred pain to the ear and inner ear problems all exist. If common OTC pain meds like Tylenol/Motrin don't work, then see your ENT Doctor. A hearing evaluation may help, endoscopy or ear cleanings. Good luk
