Yes: Duplicated kidney/ureter is the most common renal abnormality, occurring in approximately 1% of the population. There are many variations (complete, partial, bifid, ectopic, etc.) as they relate to the anatomical configuration of the ureter and upper collecting system within the kidney. Most duplications are incidental findings on an x-ray and are not associated with any clinical problems.

Radiology studies: A number of radiology modalities such as an ultrasound, intravenous urography (dye in injected through a vein which is then filmed as it exits the kidney through the duplicated drainage system), or nuclear medicine studies (same principle as above but using small dose of radioactive material) can be used.  These are usually picked up incidentally while imaging the belly for other reasons.

mostly asymptomatic but if causing symptoms of obstruction it  needs to be removed

People with any abnormality in their kidney or with a history of kidney disease are often advised to avoid these types of medications due to small risks of kidney damage.  Acetaminophen is a safer alternative for fever and pain relief.

2 ureters: A duplex kidney means the tube draining your kidney into your bladder splits into 2 tubes. Sometimes, it's no big deal and sometimes one of the tubes can be blocked or reflux bladder urine back up to the kidney. This can cause repeat infections. If you don't have a fever or severe pain, you can go on holiday with antibiotics.

Normal variant: Duplex kidney means your kidney drains via 2 ureters (tubes connecting kidney to bladder) but a single kidney, usually a little larger than a non-duplex kidney. Presence of kidney infection suggests possible urinary reflux from bladder to kidney. Worth checking with VCUG (bladder x-ray). No doubt on antibiotics (a) for infection & continue to take. Go & consider prophylactic as whilst on vacation.
