Safe to use: Benzoyl peroxide has been used for decades to treat acne, and it is safe to use, allergies to this product are rare.  If you have dry or sensitive skin, then using the product less frequently will help till your skin adapts to the medication.  Some peeling and dryness is to be expected. I would apply a good sunscreen after you have applied the benzoyl peroxide - will help more than aloe vera.

Not usually: Commonly seen signs in bulimia include a thin build, low heart rate and low blood pressure, fine hair on trunk, swelling in the feet and hands. Purging causes eroded dental enamel from vomiting, scarred/scratched hands from inducing it, esophageal/stomach tears and metabolic problems. Severe dryness and acne are not seen commonly unless there is a coexisting disease process.

Acne is a complicated problem and there is no magic treatment and I dont know what is available to you. Why is your skin dry? is it exposure to elements? are you washing to frequently or aggressively? are you using topical meds that dry the skin? are you using moisturizers?

Stronger Rx: If benzoyl peroxide or whatever over-the-counter medication that you&#x27;re using hasn&#x27;t cleared you in two weeks, get with your personal physician who can add something, perhaps an antibiotic or topical spironolactone. For the tough cases, a dermatology referral for Isotretinoin is in order. All acne can be managed nowadays by evidence-based medicine; it&#x27;s not expensive but is not altogether pleasant.

Accutane : Accutane is very effective for cystic, scarring acne.  I would recommend you carefully follow up with your doctor and keep communicating any side effects with them.
