Maybe GERD: This may be gastroesophageal reflux (acid reflux into the back of the throat); this can especially occur at night.  You could try over the counter "acid blockers" like pepcid/omeprazole for a few weeks and see if it helps.

on and off cough for weeks now seems to go for a week then come back also been having a bit of scratchy throat. and waking up in night like gasping for air occasionally. and very dry lips and mouth?

See a dr.: Hard to say what might be causing your symptoms- allergies in air, detergent used on your pillow cases or sheets, etc.  You may need to have an allergy test or it could be something else that needs to be determined by a visit to the dr.

Maybe both: But usually when sinuses get infected the upper teeth  become sore, the infection in the sinus can creat pressure which can push against the root of the teeth hence the sensitivity and soreness. The rest of your question i hope an md can answer! hope you feel better soon!

How long using?: Cinnamon in it?  Have allergies?  Changed it recently?  Swallowing toothpaste?  Sodium lauryl sulfate can cause irritation. Sls is a common ingredient in most toothpastes; it is the stuff that causes it to foam. It's a degreaser, dissolving skin oils, which can cause a drying effect. It also causes skin irritation and possible rash. Burt's bees natural toothpaste is a good, & tom's of maine.
