Hold off on products: Sometimes this can be a skin reaction to make up or other skin products.  If you use make up or cleansers in the area, try using nothing for at least a week.  If the dry patch continues, see your doctor.

Eye problems: It would be difficult for you to see an eye specialist today so you must have someone drive you to the nearest Emergency facility.
After you have been seen your eye will be evaluated and treated or the Emergency team will get you to an eye doctor immediately.

: First propriate treatment for what could be an infection of the eyelid. In addition to warm,moist compresses, an opthalmic antibiotic ointment will most likely be required.

Eczema: Eczema can present in the lid fold, often being exacerbated by dry heat.  Sometimes the flaking can be an allergic reaction to something you are touching.  A mild topical cortisone cream should control the symptoms.  Be careful if it is not an ophthalmic preparation to not get it in the eyes.
