Meds: Could be the medications but also could be the cause of the headaches.  See neurologist if you haven't.  Sometimes can be partial seizure related.  I would recommend trial of sinus rinse and see if that helps.  Sometimes you actually may get too dry.  Iron all by itself does give you a metal dry taste.

Biotene products.: Dry mouth is a common problem due to the many medications people take that cause this problem. A company named biotene has several products that are useful for alleviating this problem. I am sure there are other brands, too. Sip on water throughout the day as well. Do not suck on candies sweetened w/ anything other than xylitol. Do not sip soda or sugared drinks. Tea & coffee make you worse!

Dry patch in mouth.: Any part of your mouth that is not moist is a concern. It could be as simple as a food allergy or as serious as oral cancer. Although oral cancer is rare it should be taken very seriously. Schedule an appointment with your dentist for an evaluation.

Your dry mouth may be a result of autoimmune conditions such as Sjögren's, lupus, or other collagen vascular diseases.  Your tongue maybe come inflamed as can your gums leading to the discomfort with warm foods.  Good luck.

Various: There are a multitude of cause of dry mouth. In our modern society, i think the biggest cause is side-effects of prescription medication. If you take rx meds and are having dry mouth discuss with your doctor. Other causes are autoimmune disorders, disorders of the salivary glands or ducts, and other illnesses. Discuss with your doctor and dentist. Do not suck on hard candy as some doctors recommen.
