i dipped my wet toothbrush into a pile of dry baking soda and then brushed my teeth with it. i later learned how abrasive baking soda is. i did it once. do i likely have permanent enamel damage from this? anything i can do to reverse damage? thankyou?

: No perceivable long term damage after one application. Long term use can result in abrasion. See your dentist regularly for professional cleanings that won't damage your teeth.

so is it better to wet the tooth brush or leave it dry when brushing to prevent cavities/caries?

Either: Since once it goes in your mouth it gets wet, it really doesn' t matter. Some people like to rinse their brush under hot water to soften the bristles first. Ne need for this if you are using a soft brush, which is recommended. Hard brushes are best used for cleaning golf clubs, bathroom tile grout, and the grooves on the soles of your shoes.

i put a lot of detergent on my clothes and put them in the wash, after washing i put them to hang dry and were still very wet. i wiped my mouth with one of the wet towels after brushing teeth which is a bit slimy of detergent, should i be concerned?

No studies but...: As far as I know, no one has done any research studies proving dry brushing is beneficial, but there are no studies showing it's not beneficial. It has been used for 5000 years and many people attest to its benefits. It makes sense to me that it would help, it can not possibly be harmful &amp; it only costs the price of a brush.

It depends on: Why you have dry peeling skin.  A Clarisonic brush isn't likely to harm you but how much help, again, depends on why your have "dry, peely" skin.  If it's from something like seborrheic dermatitis then it probably won't due much good.  Your best bet is to first try to figure out why your skin is dry and peeling.

Excellent: Dry  skin brushing is a great form of detoxification. The skin is the largest organ of detoxification in the body.

The fact that: The fact that your gums do not bleed is good, assuming you brush and floss adequately. Any evaluation more than that would require a one on one personal examination.
