Fever/diarrhea: Most often this is caused by a virus. We rarely give any medicines to slow the diarrhea or keep the pathogen inside. If there is blood, a peculiar odor to the stool or the baby is otherwise sick, he may require stool samples and blood work. All the best.

Taxim O drops: Is an antibiotic ( cefixime), that is used for treating a variety of infections.  Hopefully this was recommended to you by a physician and your baby is under a doctors care. Infections in very young infants such as yours can be quite serious.

Rash: It would be nice to know what the rash looks like. Symptomatic treatment for an itchy rash may include Aveeno (oatmeal) in the baby's bath and application of a moisturizer such as Cetaphil or Eucerin. Attempt to establish a cause for the rash. All the best.

About Atarax...: In the US, the recommendation is not to use cold medications such as decongestants, antihistamines, and cough suppressants in babies or young children who have typical cold symptoms. We do use asthma medications when there are asthma symptoms, which can include wheezing, coughing, etc... Each patient and each illness has its individual characteristics, so it is hard to generalize.

Improving...: Although you stated that the cough was viral, it seems the baby was treated with antibiotics?  Either way, you mention that the baby is recovering --- so I gather that means improving.  Cough can linger for a few weeks - con't with supportive care - saline drops, humidifier.  It isn't surprising if mom caught the cold - symptomatic care for her and seek medical care if either mom/baby worsen.

Probably not: The presence of reducing substances and pus cells in small concentrations doesn't necessarily indicate infection, but it seems your doctor prescribed Taxin O just in case.  EBF babies typically have soft stools that may also appear "seedy" &amp; range from yellow to green in color.  Iron supplements can make the stool darker.  Since your baby is active &amp; growing, most like s'he is fine.

how do you take ppi w/ nsaid if you have peptic ulcer?  which ppi drug/dose do you recommend if someone w/ peptic ulcer must on max dose of nsaid?

Avoid NSAID if able: I would minimize NSAID use and/or consider a cox-2 alternative. Hpylori needs to be excluded and treated if present. With this i would rec high dose ppi bid for 6-8 weeks and then if PUD healed decrease to once a day.
