Sugary soda vs light: NO. Neither of them are healthy. So I recommend  water, ice tea, lemonade-home made. etc.

Sorry,: but aspartame does NOT cause cancer. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or internet scams. It would be much better to get your fiber from your diet or a more conventional fiber supplement.

drink water! forget about the additives. If you can not stomach plain water, then ok but otherwise water, water, water, water!

No: Won't have any effect either way. You need dietary restriction, exercise, support in order to lose weight. Make sure you're not eating junk food or snacks while you're drinking the diet drink.

Zero sugar, no risk: Aspartame is one of the most common sugar substitutes. It is zero sugar and has none of the physiologic effects of sugar like contribution to weight gain and diabetes risk. (I don't know any other "negative side effects" of sugar.) You can find online comments that suggest that aspartame has its own health risks, but most experts consider those urban myths and believe aspartame is entirely safe.

Sugar substitutes : It can be harmful as it confuses the body and perhaps an indirect risk for cancer and obesity.  Eat and drink more naturally such as water

: Aspartame is an FDA approved poison, and in my opinion, should be totally avoided.  No question it worsens migraine, but the cancer issue is not proven.  Clearly, the combination of diet sodas and aspartame can contribute to eventual metabolic syndrome.  My advice is to completely avoid carbonated beverages.  See a dietician and get their opinion and design modifications.

Unlikely: There is no scientific evidence that Fluoride decreases iq.  Aspartame has been on the market for decades and there is no scientific evidence that it decreases iq.

No: There is no evidence that even with use of diet drinks containing aspartame throughout pregnancy and nursing, that this causes any damage. But clearly a sip will not hurt your baby. No problem.
