Yes: An occaisional beer should not be an issue for patients taking coumadin (warfarin). Excessive alcohol consumption, which can lead to bleeding in the stomach and liver dysfunction should be avoided because these problems will be compounded by coumadin (warfarin).

Not a good idea: Warfarin is very sensitive to changes in the body, and to changes in one's diet or medications. If a person absolutely must drink alcoholic beverages, she has to work out a plan with her primary doctor to follow the changes in blood test results and adjustments in medication dose. That's probably the only way to figure out how much of an effect a given amount of alcohol has on one specific person.

Alcohol and warfarin: Yes there is no reason why you can not have a glass of wine or a beer on weekends if you are on warfarin.But your dose 10.75 seems, there is some error, either it is 10 or 7.5 mgm i suppose.But dose does not matter as it is based on pt and inr, blood tests.

Sure BUT!!!!: I would advise anyone on Coumadin (warfarin) not to drink and if so, to drink no more that 1-2 ounces of alcohol in a 24 hour period.  The risk of falls and severe injury, bleeding and even death is too great.  The physical and immediate act fo taking the dose with alcohol is probably not a major issue, but why would you do it?  There are not many medications that i take more serious than using coumadin (warfarin).

Coffee and coumadin (warfarin): Yes.  There is no reason that you cannot enjoy coffee while on Coumadin (warfarin) medication.

In moderation: Do not drink until you "fall down."  that is a really bad idea on blood thinners.

Just liquids: Coumadin (warfarin) is a  blood thinner, it reduces clotting: how are you losing blood? Only trauma (a cut, bruise etc) would allow the effects of Coumadin (warfarin) to reduce blood volume.  Your dosage may need to changed. Speak to an md, especially a hematologist. Hydration has no effect on how the medication works, other than it is healthy to stay hydrated.
